Tara Gopal

Program Director Tara has over 2 decades of experience across a wide range of industries - Advertising, Retail, Hospitality and Contracting. This has given her the confidence and exposure to manage a multitude of processes both as an employee and as an entrepreneur. She has managed large teams and has successfully managed and delivered complex projects for large multinationals like RR Donelley, PWC, Perkin Elmer Life Sciences.
She currently works on Women's Development in the employment and skilling space. As Program Director for PII she is involved in the smooth functioning of the projects under its umbrella. She holds an MBA from the Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies.

Karun Gupta

Associate Project Coordinator A policy and development professional with experience in the fields of law, public policy, social impact and governance, Karun currently works as an Assistant Project Coordinator with Parliamentarians with Innovators for India on projects related to the Covid-19 pandemic, mental health, education, skill education & employment, etc. with various state governments.
Karun pursued his Bachelor’s in Law from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.
His interests include reading autobiographies and good fiction novels, reading interesting case studies, solving logo quizzes, listening to Indian classical music & old Indie songs and going for morning runs every day. He is passionate about finding solutions to address India’s diverse developmental challenges and can be found tweeting his thoughts and opinions by the username Carun95 on Twitter during his free time.

Dr. Aakanksha Bhatia

Project Coordinator and Research Director Dr Aakanksha Bhatia is a counseling and educational psychologist with over eight years of experience of working in the spaces of mental health and education in India. She is also working as an Assistant Professor (Psychology) at University of Delhi. Her expertise lies in the areas of inclusion, gender, life skills, SEL, menstrual health management, and parenting. She has consulted to design and implement large scale programs for several organizations like iDreamCareer, SEEDS India, Khushii supported by UNDP, UNICEF, Honeywell Safe Schools Program.
In the past, she has pursued B.A. Honors in Psychology from IP College for Women (North Campus Topper) and Masters in Psychology from University of Delhi (third position in the university). Further, she did B.Ed. from Central Institute of Education, University of Delhi. She holds a PhD in Psychology (UGC-Senior Research Fellow) from the Department of Psychology, University of Delhi. Her doctoral work is a socio-psychological exploration of the dynamics of inclusion and exclusion in a low-income educational context. She has presented her research work at several national and international forums including the prestigious National Academy of Psychology (NAOP) and International Congress of Psychology (ICP). She has research publications in the area of social inclusion and exclusion, religion and adolescent relationships.

Ghanshyam Tiwari

Advisor Ghanshyam Tiwari is an Indian politician and the current National Spokesperson of the Samajwadi Party. He has previously served as the advisor to the JD(U) government in Bihar from 2010-2015. Ghanshyam has a bachelor’s degree from NIT Surathkal, post which he did an executive management program at IIM bangalore in 2005, after which he completed a MBA degree from Kellogg School of Management in 2011 and later on also earned a master’s degree in public administration and public policy from Harvard Kennedy School.

About Us

The Mindrise program seeks to focus on improving the mental health of those children who have lost a parent (or both) due to Covid-19. Through this project the aim is to provide mental health counselling to children to take the first step towards emotional and psychological well-being as well as coping with grief/loss/post traumatic stress. This program involves conducting 3200 mental health counselling sessions with 3000 students.
